I used to collect plastic water bottles as a hobby, take them to the local store and get some pocket change back…that all changed when the pandemic, my garage which was then full of collected bottles was now my parents new project and they wanted the bottles gone. So I switched gears and started putting my learned skills to use. I used the pandemic freetime to delve into the inner workings of textile sourcing and design. Later that year the “Moving Shorts” were born.
"I am a teenager. I attend school, play a sport at a competitive level, and I like to go places and do things. And like every teenager, I am chasing a lot of things. My dirtbike, a few pretty classmates, some great conversations with friends. But most of all, I am chasing a dream to become an entrepreneur; to make a company and products that represent my ethos and my lifestyle: Earth consciousness with a good helping of fashion, fun and comfort. I design my own clothes, and I wanted to bring things I love to people around me. And so, Pixie clothing was born." - Vallabh, 2022
We are all shaped by our environment, and I take pride in being a product of Buffalo, NY. Often defined by its rustbelt history, what many overlook is the city's thriving creative ambition. Like Buffalo, I come from humble beginnings, yet I also embrace a refined side—one that thrives on creative design, bringing ideas to life, and making things happen.
I spent many of my summers in Rajasthan, India. It was on this very hike in the Aravalli Mountains that set me off on a new course, one that made me rethink my business and switch gears. What happened on this hike was beautiful, and it serves as a reminder to why we should all appreciate the colored, more BOLD details in life. What happened on this hike is a story for another time :)
